My husband passed on over 10 years ago, he was a practising sculptor and partner in our joint design business and he is much missed by all the family.  One of his sculptures was of a female torso much loved by our daughter Catherine.  We kept it in a very safe place, because it was made of plaster and could be damaged.  For Catherine's 50th birthday she asked for a bronze cast to be made of it for her.  After much searching on the web we found Steve & Roxanne.  They visited my studio to see if this was possible and happily were able to take the torso away and have produced a very beautiful cold cast bronze.  Catherine has seen the photographs and is absolutely delighted and is arranging for it to be transported to Switzerland where she now lives.

Steve and Roxanne have been so helpful with their time, guidance and professionalism, mixed with lovely company.  I am thrilled with the cold cast bronze torso that has been produced and would highly recommend them.

Private client

I first met Steve at an Art Fair in London some 20 years ago and was immediately struck by his engaging, relaxed and friendly demeanour.  Self taught, his talent is natural, his drawing, sculpting and attention to detail effortless.  I have spent hours and hours in his company discussing projects and  I am always amazed at his fortitude in trying to keep everyone happy, both private and corporate, but he does and his work ethic is tremendous.

I am glad that their is only one Steve Winterburn because its a pleasure to engage his services and watch his sublime talent emerge from the initial drawing, into clay and then to the finished sculpture.

Welsh Dragon Project

Steve Winterburn has been a passionate supporter of the sporting arts.  The Rugby Football League has looked towards Steve for inspiration and guidance on a number of high profile projects.  These have ranged from work around the late Clive Sullivan, the Rugby League World Cup Captain in 1972, through to the now iconic Wembley statue of Challenge Cup heroes.  He has been involved from the embryonic stages of development through to costing, design, working with families and the ultimate finished product.  Steve's contribution has been exemplary.  His commitment to detail is extraordinary and he continues to be always approachable.

We are looking forward to him working on a number of commissions in the near future and Steve is our preferred public arts sculptor on all such projects.  The game of Rugby League will no doubt enjoy Steve's work for many years to come.

Steve Ball

General Manager RFL Benevolent Fund

Steve and Joy guided me through the whole process of creating and erecting the RFL statue at Wembley Stadium. They were thoughtful, understanding in their support and clearly have an attitude that is aimed at "getting the job done well".

It was great to have the help of truly professional people who have artistic vision, technical excellence and a practical approach to the solving the  real problems that present themselves in any project of this importance.

I would recommend them as professionals, as artists but primarily as very decent people.

Carrs have had the honour of working with Stephen for almost a decade now. During this time we have worked on some wonderful bespoke projects together, that have taken Stephen’s work to many of our VVIP and Royal clients around the world.

His limited edition sculptures have introduced another dimension to our retail division. Superbly detailed pieces compliment the luxurious products Carrs manufacture perfectly. As a result we have generated some excellent business in recent years and we plan for this to continue for many more.

It’s great pleasure to work with an artist who has the same high exacting standards for quality and innovation that we do.
